Following the work of Hutcheon (2002), a study to determine the
relationship of the beam current incident on the DRAGON gas target to the beta
monitor counts and the elastic monitor counts was undertaken. Data
for fourteen runs utilizing a
Na beam were collected, and three
different ratios were calculated for each run: elastic monitor counts
to FC4 reading (R1), elastic monitor counts to beta monitor counts (R2), and
beta monitor counts to FC4 reading (R3). Results indicate that R2 is
the most constant ratio, with both R1 and R3 displaying larger
standard deviations.
