Minutes of the DRAGON Meeting

Present: DAH, DO, CAD, UH, PM, PB, LB

1. Hardware
  New leak that slowly appears.  A brief burst of He into
  the FCF re-entrant tube shows that there definitely is a
  leak -- but not clear that it is the only leak, after
  pumping on both sides of the leak.  Put on blank off --
  FCF was twisted; leak at conflat joint, replaced it.
  But now appears that bellows is leaking.  (Will test it.)
  Not known how FCF twisted -- brass knob is supposed to
  prevent that.  We have a spare bellows.  But there is still
  a leak, including the blank off.  DO will get a better blank 
  off and continue leak tests.  DO 80% sure this will fix it --
  but worries about additional leaks.  
  PM: Do a better pin-hole on both exhausts -- get fine 
  `adjustability'.  PM: Slow leak from trapped air in threads?
  (~1 cc).
  Must be careful with FCF assembly.
  PM will send reminder about ion pump.

2. OPS Meeting (DAH)
  Fairly confidents regulators will approve second phase of
  uranium target.  Decay curve in holding tank is consistent
  with 211Rn.  Target exposed to 100 uA/h but no beam upstairs.
  Checking for alpha-emitters.  New types (to TRIUMF) of
  detectors to look for alpha-emitters.
  New dose esimate form for >200 uSv/hr work.
