Minutes of the DRAGON meeting 13 November, 2007

0) Minutes of the previous meeting -- approved by default

1) Hardware:

 Ion pump committed suicide (PM) -- it burned through the
 HV feedthru and created a vacuum leak.
 Removed ion pump and blanked off; pumped down to low 10**-7.

 We need a database of loaned items (TUDA has 2, TITAN 1 of 
 our pre-amps).

2) Solar Cells:

 Looking for grounding problems -- took apart and reassembled
 -- still problems but different (UH).
 Solar cells on common ground ``way back at the junction 
 box'' (CR).
 CV fiddled with exterior cables and now things are
 different.  Some channels have nothing; PAs saturated?
 We should go through every channel with scope (CR).  Some
 questions about what source is being used.  Taking a long 
 time . . . .

3) Q1/Q2 adjustment

 . . . . so, Go ahead and move those quads (CR).
 Two adjustment points on top and one on the side (DH/PM).
 Extrapolate from student's (Michael) measurements to get
 how much we should move casing of the quad.
 Q1 relative to Q2 difference in height is certainly related
 to setting the y-slit C 3 mm high (DH).

 3 to 1 magnification, so image is high ==> Q1 should be 
 lowered (DH).  Measure gap and check with TOTAL station.
 Height adjustment is most significant (DH).  Make
 reversible changes (CR).  
 Use alpha source to check change in image at charge slits
 as quad is moved (DH).  Clearest signal is with strip
 detector DS of charge slits.  Make sure that the source
 is in the right position and orientation (CR).  JP had a
 technique with pumping tubes in place.  DH will circulate
 a plan within the next 24 hours.  CR: get started on this
 fairly quickly  (will need DO's help).

4) A.O.B

 -Installation of super nano gun -- CR, CV, & DH [?] will
  help Kerthie get it installed.

 -All the EEC reports are in.  15 active proposals, 7 reports
  submitted, 2 new proposals.
