Minutes DRAGON meeting May 15 2007

0) previous minutes accepted with 1 modification: High Voltage Drivers, *not* Dividers

1) Hardware:
   Total station: survey of the top positions almost finished
a small design error was made for the side pieces, extension
  pieces had to be made
transformation to usable coordinates not clear now, needs to be
  a two step process
   DSSSD calibration: next week
   DFOT will buy double filament ion gauges from the VARIAN credit
  (CAD 1,431.00)
   Mitutotyo - installation almost finished, no progress on serial
  readout, but device can be read out locally
   Roots blowers logic - Mike Le Ross changed EPICS logic, will be
  tested soon
   TUDRAGON test will be delayed until alpha acceptance studies and
  FEBIAD beam time in June are finished
   Box DB14 for TUDA - installation of a stripper foil for fully
  stripping to reduce 18O contamination

   Plan for the next weeks:
2 weeks of alpha acceptance studies to reproduce the current
  status (no simulations)
1 week ion chamber installation with Mylar window
conditioning of ED's during IC installation and unused nite time
  during alpha tests (180 kV at ED1 is desirable)
no Ge detectors at DRAGON, but at TUDA

2) 16N article by LB et al.: a new paper is going to be published in PRC on the ~10yr old 
Yale data with highly questionable interpretation. LB and GR are using GEANT simulation to 
model the experimental data and preparing a paper on remarks about the Yale paper.

3) AOB:
   CV: first 40Ca paper now published in NIM B after almost 2 years.
   GR: life-time paper on Na-22 almost ready for submission
   TUDRAGON future: an actable strategy for solving Tudragon problems should be ready for 
discussion and implementation in June
