DRAGON Meeting Minutes - 9 May 2006 Present: DH, CD, EoC, PM, LB, AH, CR, GR (recorder), JEP, MT, JZ, CV Last weeks minutes ok'd. 12C(a,g) run The old data could be reproduced so far. Are we going to present this on the ISAC Science Forum tomorrow? JC: We should also compare the CSD data with Wolf's report data. Lothar will look into the single spectra. The statistics is probably insufficient. DRAGON acceptance: JC gave an overview (attached) of DRAGON's optics. It is clear that the charge slits chop something with their usual settings (25 mm). We also need the field clamps in GEANT. JP is sure that if something is wrong it is most probably before or in the quad triplets Q3/Q4/Q5. How can we place a detector there? The plan is to go to the mass slits first. Prep./plan for Ti C.S.D. measurements CV Run plan (attached). We better start w/o CSB, so we have at least some data before we replace only CSBs. Run starts presumably Thursday, runs for 4 days. 30P(p,g)31S DH Presentation of the background of this proposal. Non-solar 30Si grains are expected to have more 30Si than solar ones. 30P(p,g) sucks flow from 30P->30Si b+ decay and therefore can reduce the amount of 30Si. Mass 30 is close to the RFQ limit. Hardware PM: New SB detector arrived. Still problems with thermocouples and fans. GR 16 May 2006
