Minutes of DRAGON meeting held on March 28, 2006 convened at 14:05 attended by: DH, DO, CD, JC(recorder), LB, DF, PM, JP, CV, CR previous minutes: 27Al to 26Al, "q1 happier at -5%" would recommend to change wording to to "beam spot tighter with q1 down 5% from nominal setting". 40Ca(a,g) status: Can't reproduce raw yield of Nov 2005 run at E~960 keV/u. Yield at 990 keV/u reproduced taking into account improved BGO efficiency due to lower threshold. All possible explanations (improved BGO eff, SX1 reversed, different decay and therefore cone angle) seem to shift the data in the other direction. Will continue to investigate last year's point... ISAC-II: Laxdal still waiting for operating license. Plans to run ~ 5 days to check out that installations were correct, check gross features of operation... They won't take the beam until ~ Monday. JC reports on mass slit exercising because it appears there is little one can do to change the achromatic focus at the mass slits, and it is very tight (<5mm), based on optics calculations. Thus he and DO tried reducing mass slit width to reduce leaky beam (which is worse this time for some reason). Just 2mm closing reduces leaky beam rate by factor of three... The plan is to continue down in energy... AOB: Jonty writing up alpha acceptance reports... Adjourned at 14:53
