DRAGON Meeting Minutes 18th March 2008

1. Hardware/Upgrade Status
Slits calibrated by CV with theodolite. Top slit was off by 1.5mm -> fix by moving limit switch -> Calibrated
Need shelf for new turbo. It is KF so no problem with fixtures, but two of our turbos need to have their fixtures changed due to the 'Varian problem'. 

2. Plan for rest of week
Get Mike LeRoss to put in the new cables
Find a manual readout gauge for FS box.
Reach good vacuum + vac test before put in MCPs. 
G10 Plates for MCPs need to be finished....next week?
Foils -> one successful...need to make more
Start to try to install attenuator mesh -> can use upstream turbo port
4" linear drive available for this??
Use surgical scissors to cut mesh?

3. 22Na
Targets now removed from ladder. Ladder contaminated with ~3uCi - Anne offered to make another ladder + Faraday Plate rather than ship up here. 
Pierre Bricault essentially approved the implantation plan -> Wants a calendar version or 'timeline'.  

4. A.O.B
23Mg beam properties:
May 500 keV/u, 700 keV/u + 200 keV/u (test t.o.f system)
27Al for CSDs + 24Mg
June 475 keV/u, but what resonance energy? 458 (Kubono), 476 (Yale), or 499 keV C.M? Start in middle.
Energy loss in 8 Torr is ~38 keV/u.
21Na - reasonable intensity (to read on cup) at any energy (but one with good beamspot).
Luke Erikson arrives on March 25th.
