DRAGON Meeting Minutes - 18 July 2006

1. Minutes of previous meeting and business arising

No comments.

2. Hardware/software status DH 

- DH: Morgan Ceramics made suitable tubes. We had changed the specs
  in order to get them manufactured. Hole is larger and we need a
  new flange for that.

3. Alpha acceptance  EOC (see attached file)

- Now measuring with Gd source plus collimator. Rate is rather low.
  Changing from charge slits to mass slits. Got rid of the noise.
  Will be more interesting at the mass slits. Geant predicts more
  sensitivity.

- MT: Found out how they made the Gd source. Eu was held between Al
  plates, bombarded by protons, and then Gd chemically separated.
  Unlikely that we can produce a better one.

4. CSD paper - final comments

- No further comments. Will be send out next week....

5. EEC

- Rehearsal talks will be Wed., Thu., and Fri., at 4pm.
- Next DRAGON meeting, room overlap with EEC?

6. 22Na(p,g)

- Finally found JCs' logbooks and targets
  Need to transport target to Seattle
  9000 CAD grant left. Form 180 due end of July.

7. Other business

- Beam request deadline is July 28.
  MT: Request for 20Ne
  Pierre tests FEBIAD source off-line in August.
  MT: We should push Christofs' "magic" stripper foils in the MEBT?
  Ask for 17O

- LB: Writing on theoretical 12C paper
