Dragon meeting Jan 22 2008

Present:  DH, CD, LB, PM, DFOT, UH, GR, LE, CV (recoder)

1) previous minutes accepted

2) upgrade of end station:  order turbo unless PM¡¯s idea using the vent port on the TP works

machine shop:  no priority, but CR listed our priority of the parts (first ¨C parts needed to relocate the FS box, second ¨C mods on MCP 1, 
third ¨C MCP 2 and DSSD box) 

3) positioning of alpha source  -  parts are made, should be ready soon.  PM suggests to make a separate cover plate for the positioning

4) beam time requests:   20 shifts of radioactive beam (23Mg) + stable beam;  8 shifts of stable 33S

5) transmission studies:   DH: polarity of SM1Y  confirmed to be right;  UH:  max transmission between charge and final slits is 86%;  need 
to record field strength of these measurements for future reference; comparison with GEANT and previous measurements

6) DAQ stuff:  LE:  several different tasks:   maintenance programming like move to rootana; recoding epics events with higher frequency for a 
short time interval (for FC readings);  defining ROIs in histograms as a gate for other histograms (will use last 23Na(pg) run as an example);
