Hardware 
 
  Decision made to do an optical check on gas cell position under vacuum
and at atm.  Requires an led installed inside gas cell.

  Discussion on  Mitutoyo or similar scales to get an independent readback
on charge slit position and gap.  A possible candidate was identified and
need to confirm the output is absolute and not subject to battery/power failure
and can be read into EPICS via serial port.

Beam Test  JP

   Some delay tuning 22Ne  beam.  Finally when beam was delivered and centered
it was not possible to turn on ED1.   However when the calculated energy loss
in gas target was accounted for, quads and steerers off, the beam came through
centered at BCM2.

    ED1 problems had to do with Canbus.  Subsequently came on at 138 kV and
conditioned to 163 kV after 1 day.

   Possible to get 1.5 MeV 22Ne beam Thursday 14 Dec.  There is a shortage of
Operators, especially when yield measurements are being done in parallel.  
Request made to have 2 operators available under these conditions.

Yield  MT

   Ti-Carbide target used up to 70 uA. 
18Ne and 19Ne still 10**2 to low.  Hope Si-Carbide will improve this.
6He seen at 10**7 level.  19O and 20O  seen.  58Mn seen.
30P not seen at all.

   Si-Carbide nest target.

Workshops  
    WRNP coming, funds for possibly 1 to attend.

    Designer Corrie Holmberg working on final concept of target module.
Will circulate drawing this week.
