Minutes for DRAGON meeting, April 26th 2005. ************************************************* Present: Christof Vockenhuber, Jac Caggiano, Marc Huyse, Peter Machule, Mike Trinczek, Dave Ottowell, John D'Auria, Dave Hutcheon, Art Olin, Jonty Pearson, Chris Ouellet (recorder). 1.Hardware Status ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ JD: Mini 1 hour shutdown for changing ion source. Changing of backup power supply in ISAC 2. Water leak in quad coils still there. DH: Curtis says someone is on it. PM: Might do it??. JD: Front end Alignment? DH: Upstream block seems twisted and everything else is okay. AO: When was it last looked at? DH: Jan 02. AO: Perhaps has influence on Carbon distributions. JD: Need to be done before Al? AO: Can this be simulated? JD: CR will look into the simulation. JD: Status of ED1. 2.Present Experimental Status ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ JD: H3 experiment lost beam last night, currently tuning. CR: Beam is on target. DH: FC1 signal is coming from target and bias of holder is being applied via battery and aligator clip. JD: Run will continue. CO: CV has figured out that the density in TRIM is not adjusted by the program correctly. Results now agree with the program quite well. A surface barrier detector was put in the ion chamber to figure out the energy loss in the mylar in vacuum. JD showed us that we had incorrect polarity bias applied, results look much better with correct bias. Preliminary indications show we have mylar of 0.3 micro meters thickness. DH points out vacuum data is not as sharp as the mylar data which needs to be investigated. Bing: C11 run ~52mC activity. Beam intensity 2x10^7 but is unsure it's right. JD: Seems low. CR and MT will look into it. JD: Summer students are arriving. Heather will be split between JC and CR. Benji will be working with JP.
